I’m going to keep this short and sweet: if you like having an outrageous choice of lipsticks in your collection, get to know Wet N Wild. I got turned on to Wet N Wild lipsticks about a year ago by a YouTuber named Angie – her channel is called Hot & Flashy. Angie does really thorough product tests and gives good recommendations, and last year she test drove a variety of high- and low-end lipsticks to see which one performs best on mature lips. And for $1.99 each, her winner was Wet N Wild. (You can check out her lipstick review video here.)
And here’s the thing – she’s right. They’re awesome. Their Mega Last Lip Color is a bit dry on the lips, but isn’t that true of most of the everlasting lipstick formulas at the drugstore? I wear these over a light coat of clear or pale lip gloss for a bit more moisture and shine, and they’re terrific. My latest find, though, is their Silk Finish Lipstick, a real budget buster at just 99 cents. They’re creamier than the Mega Last formula, the colors are gorgeous, and they have great staying power!
I visited my mom over Thanksgiving, and the Rite Aid pharmacy near her home has a terrific cosmetics aisle. I check it out every time I’m there. They had more than 50 different Wet N Wild lipsticks, and this was the first time I’d seen the Silk Finish line. (My local pharmacies are woefully lacking in Wet N Wild choices.) For less than $15 I bought 7 new lipsticks, and four of them were Silk Finish. My very favorite is Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Black Orchid:
This is good stuff! It looks extremely dark in the tube. (I was looking for a very dark berry color for the holidays). On my lips it’s a beautiful, rich berry shade, not as dark as I had expected but somehow perfect. If I put this on in the morning when I’m getting ready, it still looks good at lunchtime. Your mileage may vary, but for me, that’s a miracle. My lipstick is normally worn off after my mid-morning coffee.
You’ve gotta try this. You know I love Amazon, right? Check out the entire collection here: Wet N Wild Lipsticks on Amazon. I’d love to hear if you enjoy them as much as I do!
