I’m getting on the Instant Pot bandwagon!

‘Fessing up in advance here… I am easily lured by the siren song of a new kitchen gadget.  If a gizmo claims it will save me time or effort or will outperform another gizmo, then tell me more! And so, of course, the new Instant Pot craze captured my attention.  I resisted its appeal for a few months, but as of last week, it won.

If you’ve been living under a rock and aren’t familiar with this latest kitchen gadget, here’s the scoop. The Instant Pot is an electronic pressure cooker and slow cooker that allows for faster, healthier dinners in one pot.  And that, of course, is why it’s so appealing for this lady who likes to cook – but not all night – and who loathes doing dishes.  One pot, healthier, fast, easy, and single-bowl clean up? Sold!

Have any good Instant Pot recipes you’d like to share? Please post them in the comments or get in touch. I would love to hear about your tried and true favorites. Prior to purchasing, I searched the web to see what types of recipes were available and am finding lots to choose from.  Here are a few blogs and sites that seem to have a good selection of recipes which I plan to try:

By the way, here’s a tip about buying an Instant Pot. If you’re thinking of getting one, avoid telling your friends and family first!  Everybody seems to have a horror story about the old days when a pressure cooker exploded and blew up their grandmother’s kitchen.  Those stories are probably all true – but nowadays, pressure cookers are well built and very safe when used according to the instructions (as with any small appliance).

Stay tuned for some recipe reviews and new experiences. And in the meantime, please share your Instant Pot stories with me!
